Interior designer To Yosef<\/strong>, a native of Moshav Margaliot in the north, has been leading a studio that designs private homes, luxury apartments and commercial spaces across the country for over a decade. His work is based on a personal approach that puts the client at the center, alongside a modern language, the use of diverse materials and attention to detail. The connection to nature and the landscape from which he came continues to accompany his work today, and is expressed in the way he seeks to bring the outside in and create spaces that feel pleasant and natural.<\/p>\n

“The most important thing in designing a bedroom is proportion,” says Yosef. For him, even before choosing materials, colors or furniture, the design begins with the relationships between the elements that make up the space: the height of the ceiling in relation to the bed, the width of the passages, the size of the openings, the distances between the various functions and the way in which natural light enters the room and changes throughout the day. For him, openings play a particularly significant role. Wide, well-placed openings can completely change the perception of space, introduce depth and a view, and create a natural connection between the bedroom and the outdoors. Alongside natural light, artificial lighting is also designed in layers, so that it can change according to the different times and uses of the room. Functional lighting when you need it, and softer, more subdued light towards the end of the day.<\/p>\n

“In the end, the proportions are what create the magic in a good bedroom,” he explains. “You can use the most beautiful materials, but if the relationships in the space are not right, something in the experience will not work.” The same concept continues in the choice of furniture. The bed is not just an item that is brought into the room, but the central element around which the entire composition is built. Its height, its relationship to the wall and ceiling, the location of the dressers, and the space left around it affect the feeling no less than its design.<\/p>\n

For Yosef, all of these decisions ultimately converge on a simpler goal: to create a place that allows for a good night’s sleep. The bedroom should slow down, reduce the noise of the day and create a natural transition to rest. In the morning, the same architecture should work in the opposite direction, with natural light, a sense of space and the right proportions that allow you to start the day pleasantly. For him, a successful bedroom is not measured only by its beauty, but by the feeling it creates. When the proportions are precise, the light is right and the space is balanced, that quality is created that is difficult to define at first glance, but very easy to feel the moment you enter the room.<\/p>\n

For the production, Yosef chose a bed. Dover <\/strong>of Hollandia<\/strong>, an upholstered bed with a headboard divided into two wide support pillows. “I really like upholstered and luxurious beds. I need that hug at the end of the day,” he says. He continued the same feeling in the design of the space around it, using large display cases that bring the outside in and a combination of natural materials, including wood, fabrics, upholstery and mineral rugs. “I’m from the north, I need nature inside the house,” he explains. In this way, the soft bed fits into a natural material envelope, which connects the feeling of pampering he seeks in the bedroom with the connection to the landscape and nature that characterizes his language.<\/p>\n
