In the case of this Tel Aviv apartment, all signs pointed in one direction – the classic European style.
The apartment’s location near the Opera House and the Cameri Theater and the clients’ personal taste left no room for doubt among designers Shmarit Kaufman and Little Ofir.
The apartment, designed collaboratively for a couple in their 70s, brings the timeless elegance of the style to a Tel Aviv commercial tower, fusing the clients’ love of music, opera, and theater with functional solutions.

The apartment is 75 square meters in size and is intended to be used by the couple as a vacation apartment on weekends and holidays. The interior layout was slightly changed, with one room being eliminated in order to expand the public space,
And the kitchen also opens towards the living room. The large and dramatic theaters of classical Europe were a source of inspiration for the atmosphere and character of the apartment, and the finishing materials and design details were chosen accordingly.
At the same time, you won’t see any overload or heaviness here, but rather a pleasant balance between dark and light tones and minimalist and ornate elements. How exactly did they do that?
We have divided the process into three essential steps that you can also implement:
The walls of the dining area and living room were decorated with exquisite cornices, which were adapted to the proportions of the space.
The TV wall, for example, is divided into three parts – the central one is wider and frames the television, and on either side of it are narrower frames with wall lighting fixtures in the center.
The kitchen is very present in the public space and was also designed with facades decorated with frames. The flooring in a fishbone pattern adds texture to the entire space. In the double bathroom,
Separated from the sleeping area by a glass partition, classic-looking faucets and inserts were selected, a Niagara with a pull cord to flush, a black toilet seat, and stylish accessories.

The color palette in the apartment is meticulous and mostly relies on shades of black, white, and gray. The use of a deep blue shade, such as on the island in the kitchen and the velvet armchairs in the living room,
Provides a fragrance “full of majesty and splendor” as Shamrit defines it. Golden touches that are expressed in the decoration, in the pictures on the walls and in the lighting fixtures also enrich the look.
If we’ve already mentioned the lighting fixtures, then pay attention to the chandelier above the dining area, the trio of fixtures hanging above the island, and the pair of wall lamps in the living room.
All combine glass with a gold finish, adding a luxurious atmosphere to the public space. A dark, dramatic velvet curtain was chosen for the master bedroom and is used to darken the room as requested by the clients.

This step is elusive but critical in creating a balanced, pleasant, and light space.
The details that immediately catch the eye are those we mentioned in the previous two sections, but the places where the designers decided to follow a clean line are the ones that allow them to stand out.
If you look at the large pieces of furniture, such as the sofa, dining table, and bed, for example, you will see that their lines are actually contemporary and even minimalist.
The kitchen incorporates modern appliances as opposed to ornate and ornate ones. The use of glass and blackened frames creates an airy and light feeling even though the space is not particularly large.
The bedroom features a wardrobe with blackened mirrored fronts and a television. The balance created between the styles allows the couple to enjoy a sophisticated and functional space, while the classic atmosphere is definitely present in every corner.
