In the heart of a quiet street in SoHo, New York, The Manner hotel offers a new kind of hospitality experience – discreet, design-led, and imbued with a sense of home.
The hotel was designed by Milan-based architect Hannes Peer, known for his refined approach to interior architecture, in collaboration with New York firm Lubrano Ciavarra Architects, who served as the executive architects.

The hotel’s 97 rooms and suites are defined by a warm color palette of yellow, blue, and sandy tones, contrasted with dark wood paneling, deep blue glossy finishes, and custom-designed furniture. Asymmetrically placed chandeliers and full-height mirrors add a sense of movement and intimacy, enhancing the dialogue between material and light.

Throughout the hotel, artworks by international artists and designers contribute to its unique character. In the lobby, large-scale ceramic wall pieces by Giovanni De Francesco and sculptural totem columns by Nicolas Shurey create striking focal points.

Handcrafted ceramic columns by Ben Medansky frame the second-floor lounge, while the hallway ceilings leading to the rooms are adorned with colorful graphic works by Alex Proba.

In the penthouse, custom-designed glass elements by Alexander Kirkeby are combined with rich finishes and homely interior details. The newly opened rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the New York City skyline, within an intimate, material-rich setting.

Across the hotel, a sophisticated interplay between brutalist foundations and soft, elegant finishes—like brass, dark wood, and handcrafted textiles—creates a tension between strength and restraint. The result is a homelike atmosphere rooted in craftsmanship and material richness, offering comfort without compromising on character or design vision.
