A house in Herzliya Pituach, built for a family of six on a dunam-sized plot of land. The existing house was demolished and a 600-square-meter house was built in its place, spanning three levels. “For the family, which was expanding in advanced planning stages, it was important to create a large and spacious living space that would allow them to hold parties and host a large number of people inside and outside. I wanted to express the program we formulated together in a modern, dynamic and airy structure, composed of natural and raw elements. I aspired to blur the boundaries between construction and development, create continuity between the interior and exterior, and plan in a climatic and sustainable manner.” DetailsArchitect Amir Zoref, who managed to create a unique home here and an ideal balance between modern minimalism and cozy homeliness.

The land, which was originally terraced, was leveled by raising the new house to street level. Its front facade faces east and the backyard faces west. To filter the natural light that penetrates in the morning and evening, vertical louvers made of multilayer wood were designed on both facades, which underwent a brushing and painting process to create a natural, raw color. “The louvers and pergolas are very long and are not connected to each other, so creative development and precise implementation of specific connection and anchoring details for the project were required,” notes Amir.

In designing the house, the architect relied on a virtual grid, a technique he often uses: “According to this basis, the spaces, construction, and various details were defined. The grid creates a kind of regularity that allows for harmony, order, completeness, and connections in the design.” The building itself is divided into two masses, with the mass of the upper floor, which is covered with mineral plaster, resting on the lower one, which is characterized by an exposed concrete finish, and in certain areas appears to float above it. For example, the couple’s bedroom balcony breaks through the boundaries of the building and creates a roof over the area leading down to the pool. The entrance area, which is reached via concrete walkways and tiered vegetation, is also defined and enclosed by the upper floor, which rests on two walls and creates a deep, airy space beneath it.

To emphasize the sense of tension and the illusion of levitation, the architect sought to minimize the use of supporting columns. “We managed to achieve this goal by hanging the upper floor on the roof beams, which allowed us to do without columns,” he explains. In addition, the choice of materials also contributes to enhancing the look – “I drew inspiration from classic traditional construction, where the lower parts are rougher and the upper part is clean. The connection between the raw and the processed gives the structure a certain lightness.”
Large openings and minimal aluminum systems made by Swiss Weeeze, imported and installed byDavid Ben Hamo from MD Aluminum Systems,Strengthening the sense of levitation and detachment of the structure and flooding the spaces with natural, soft light.
The combination of high-quality aluminum provides a clean, minimalist and precise look, alongside meticulous workmanship of the highest level.
“We knew that we were striving to create a sense of lightness in the space, so it was clear that the openings would be a central element in the design.
Beyond the quality of the product itself, we were also looking for practical and creative solutions in the field, and David provided exactly that — and even more.”

The house is entered through an exceptionally large entrance door, which gradually reveals the ground floor – the dining area on the right and the stairwell opposite; behind it, a glimpse of the living room and the backyard is obtained. The ground floor was designed as an open space, and is divided by partitions and free walls, for example a wall separating the living space from an intimate family corner, which includes a double-sided fireplace. The interior design continues the natural materiality that characterizes the house from the outside, and exposed concrete, mineral plaster, wood, stone and metal were used. “The house serves as a backdrop for furniture and art, so the colors of the house are very neutral,” explains Amir.

The kitchen was designed next to the family area, from which there is an exit to an outdoor dining area; behind it are hidden guest toilets and a service kitchen. “We chose a professionally designed kitchen made by Alpes Inox Italy, which is imported by the companyNiga Chef Home KitchensIt really suited the look I was looking for, as it combines industrial looks and durability with delicacy and elegance.”
The kitchen includes a tall cabinet unit made entirely of stainless steel and contains integral electrical appliances and air conditioning vents, which were designed and manufactured especially for the project. The sink and stove were placed on a central and particularly long island, also made of stainless steel and topped with a clean and aesthetic white Corian surface. The combination of materials, together with the brand’s unique design line, create a pleasant atmosphere, impressive appearance, and most importantly – a practical kitchen that will serve the family faithfully for years.

In developing the area, the architect sought to balance and connect orderly planning with free nature. The landscaping was entrusted to Zeev Diamant from Sadot Company –Design and construction of gardens “His designs are very natural and therefore suited me. He is very professional and a pleasant and patient person,” says the architect. In accordance with the request, the garden was designed with a modern and restrained look on the one hand, and natural and not artificial on the other. “The plants grow naturally and do not need to be pruned in any special way. The location, color and size of each plant were carefully chosen, for example around the stainless steel statue placed at the entrance to the house, a wall covered in white onyx stone was designed on which the upper floor rests. We chose green vegetation, but the homeowners will enjoy changes in color throughout the seasons, such as the vines visible through the windows of the dining area that will color the garden red in the fall,” adds Zeev. In addition, ancient oaks were planted next to the seating alcove, lawns and safflowers planted in concrete planters at the edge of the lot.

When you leave the living space outside, a spectacular view of a spacious yard opens up:
A large swimming pool, a concrete bar, a lounge area, a luxurious seating area and even a basketball court.
The entire exterior was designed as a complete living space, one that invites you to stay, move and meet.
The entire yard is paved with the well-known and beloved natural stone, travertine fromAbsoluto stone and marble.Natural stone creates a warm, natural and refined feeling, and blends in harmony with the materiality that surrounds it.
This is a particularly classic and practical stone, carefully selected for its timeless appearance and precise adaptation to outdoor spaces.
The brushed processing of the stone creates a natural appearance and increases the degree of friction, which allows safe and correct use both around the pool and inside the pool itself.
This creates a uniform material continuity between the yard, the seating areas and the water, without interruptions and without concessions.
On the upper floor, the private spaces of the household, the parents and the children, were designed, with an emphasis on privacy, light and comfort.
The children’s rooms face the street, so shading and ventilation solutions were incorporated into them, alongside careful planning that allows for quiet and a sense of intimacy.
In the bathrooms, natural stone elements supplied by Absoluto can be identified.
The architect, Amir Zoref, has been working with Absoluto for many years and notes the experience, professionalism, and ability to accompany complex processes with patience and precision.
This is a family-owned company, known in the market for its personal service and stone solutions in full accordance with the architectural vision.
Among other things, the bathroom cabinet in the master suite is made entirely of travertine stone, a unique solution that upgraded the visibility and turned the cabinet into an architectural element in itself.
An unconventional solution was also chosen in the guest bathroom: a cylindrical, blocky sink that was carved especially for the project from gray granite, and serves as a sculptural item that enriches the space.
The material choices in the entire project emphasize the connection between functionality, aesthetics, and precision
and the ability of natural stone to accompany different spaces, from the exterior to the smallest details inside.

An unusual solution was implemented in the house, in which an exposed concrete basketball court is not perceived as an additional element, but as an integral part of the architectural language of the entire house. The design, which was carried out in close collaboration withZohar from A.S. Ilan Sports,Relies on precise and sensitive thinking, combining functional requirements with a clear architectural vision.
The lot was designed to naturally continue the lines, materials, and proportions of the house, while adhering to clean minimalism and a uniform material language. The choice of exposed concrete, the precise consideration of dimensions and relationships between masses, and the adaptation to the unique requirements of the residents, allowed the lot to integrate in complete harmony with the overall design of the complex – without competing with it or disrupting the architectural continuity.
The project demonstrates how a functional sports solution can also carry with it design depth and architectural statement. Here, the basketball court is not just a place to play, but a carefully planned space, which is an integral part of the living experience and the architectural vision of the house.

In the basement, an additional living unit, a study, utility rooms, a medical center, and a fully equipped cinema room were designed. Lowered courtyards allow natural light to enter the floor, and a wide foyer creates a sense of space as you descend. The cinema room is wrapped in acoustic velvet fabric and has a seating area and a drinks bar, making the room a perfect home entertainment center, one that blurs the line between a private living space and a luxurious hospitality experience.
The wide foyer descending to the basement creates a pleasant flow of movement and a graduated sense of space, emphasizing the transition from the public floors to an intimate and inviting area.
