Alongside Verna Heller, Head of Design and Creative for the Hyatt Lifestyle Group, the three designed a space that combines brutalist architecture with soft, multi-layered elegance.

The hotel’s 97 rooms and suites feature a warm palette of yellow, blue and sand tones, contrasting with dark wood paneling, deep blue gloss finishes and uniquely designed furniture. Asymmetrically placed chandeliers and ceiling-level mirrors add a sense of movement and intimacy, enhancing the dialogue between material and light.

The hotel incorporates works by international artists and designers, giving the place its unique character. The lobby features large-scale ceramic wall works by Giovanni de Francesco and engraved totem poles by Nicolas Schuri, creating sculptural focal points in the space.

Handmade ceramic columns by Ben Madansky frame the second-floor lounge, and the ceilings of the hallways leading to the rooms are decorated with colorful graphic works by Alex Prova.

In the penthouse, custom glass by Alexander Kirkby blends with the rich finishes and homey interior details, while the newly opened rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the New York skyline while creating an intimate, material-rich environment.

Throughout the hotel, a sophisticated interplay between brutalist elements and soft, elegant finishes, such as brass, dark wood and hand-crafted textiles, creates a tension between strength and restraint. The result is a homely atmosphere, based on precise craftsmanship and material richness, that manages to offer comfort without sacrificing character and a design statement.
